Treat any natural wood you have with a semi gloss stain as they hate fresh paint but absolutely love natural wood. Treating the natural wood will not go down well with the carpenter bees.

Using Rose dust is a very effective but natural pesticide for carpenter bees extermination. You can purchase it from your local garden center and can be applied on a dowel rod with elmer’s glue. If they ingest the rose dust, it will kill them.

Using Aerosol Carburetor Cleaner can kill carpenter bees instantly if applied inside their nest. It usually comes with an extension tube on the can to make it easier to point and spray. However, you do need to wear eye protection when using this.

Pouring petrol into their burrows is very effective but also a very risky carpenter bees extermination method as it can damage the structure you pour it over. Better used in places where the wood is less important.
